The WADE INTO Research program last ran in the summer of 2017. Right now there are no definite plans to run it again.

The Wake/Davidson Experience in Number Theory Research (WADE INTO Research) is a research experience for undergraduates (REU) that ran for nine weeks in the summer of 2017 from June 12 through August 11. Eight undergraduate participants experienced the excitements, joys, and challenges of original mathematical research. The number theory problems were selected with the participants background and interests in mind, and each had a computational component. The participants were paid $4500 and were provided lodging in Wake Forest dorms. The program also had some limited funding to pay for participants travel. In addition to working on research projects, the students benefited from a rich professional development program which included guest lectures from those in academia and industry (see the people page). Participants also attended the Mock AMS Conference at the University of Georgia and the Joint Mathematics Meetings.
